COLOURS of objects #3 - EXERCISE

Additive and Subtractive mixing of light: red, green, blue
What light is scattered after passing through partially absorbing media?

Description: Interactive exercise to check your understanding of the phenomena of absorption and scattering of light radiation. Here, 3 images are given, those with the silhouette of farm animals successively lit by primaries lighting, red, green, blue. You have to guess the color of each silouette when it is illuminated in white light.

Definition

Addive color model: or additive mixing. The perceived color can be predicted with this model by summing the numeric representations of the component colors.

Subtractive color or subtractive color mixing: Subtractive color or subtractive color mixing give color of objects after light passes through successive layers of partially absorbing media. This model is the principle of how dyes and inks are used in color printing and photography.
